Abstract: Encouraging pedagogical innovation can be a challenge. This presentation will show tech tools to hook instructors on using technology, creating an environment for sustainable technological adoption, and establishing trust which is transferrable to students in online classes. The presenters will demonstrate multimedia technologies such as Popcorn Maker, Pinterest, TedEd. They’ll show how fostering a learning group of tech ambassadors among instructors is critical in the sustainability of technology adoption.

Bio:Cody Connor is an Instructional Technology Educational Specialist at the University of Wyoming Outreach School. He works UW instructional designers and instructors in the development and design and support of distance courses, as well as preparing professional development opportunities for educators.

They’ll show how fostering a learning group of tech ambassadors among instructors is critical in the sustainability of technology adoption. The presenters will discuss professional development endeavors at the University of Wyoming and their successes with Tech Boot Camp, e-Volution Technology Forum and Teaching ‘N Technology (TNT).

Trust is important between students and instructors and it's integral between instructional designers and instructors. From their perspective in working with faculty and experience with distance education, Athena and Cody will demonstrate ways to encourage instructors to employ technology to build trust online among students. Participants will leave this session empowered to integrate trust-building technologies into their online classrooms.
