Acrobat Hands-On: I Didn't Know Adobe Could Do That!

Abstract: Add pizzazz and readability to your Acrobat documents using Adobe Acrobat Professional's host of tools to make your PDFs all they can be, including cropping, breaking into pieces, joining pieces together, rotating, making a readable (text-based) version, adding headers and footers, adding and removing watermarks, etc. This workshop will show you how to do all of these things. If you're making PDFs for D2L or another learning management system, this session is for you!

 

Bio: Susan Kelmer has twelve years of experience working with students with disabilities and their technology needs in a college setting. She provides training in the use of all types of software used for creating accessible files and formats that are helpful for all users, not just those with print disabilities. She has trained colleagues at campuses around the country in the use of various types of software.

 

Description: Agenda: teach participants to use a variety of tools within Adobe Acrobat Professional to make PDFs tidy and user-friendly.
Learning Objective: participants will learn basic and intermediate functions in Adobe Acrobat Professional to produce clean and user-friendly PDFs.
To be learned: why readability is important, then hands-on learning of cropping, breaking apart/joining PDFs, rotating images, making readable PDFs, adding headers and footers
Timeline: Minimum one hour, preferably 90 minutes to two hours. Each section of learning will take 8-15 minutes; if more time is allotted for workshop, more practices can be employed.
Pre-COLTT Setup: will work with labs to make sure the appropriate software is installed.
