Primary Presenter: Holly Chandler Tracy

Organization: Front Range Community College

Role: Psychology Faculty

Track: Demonstration

Topic: Recent research on teaching and learning with technology

Abstract: Social Networks Adapting Pedagogical Practice (SNAPP) is a social network graphic tool that can be used in conjunction with learning management systems to create a visual representation of relationships between participants in online discussions. SNAPP can serve as a diagnostic instrument to identify isolated students, instructor-centric communication, and community formation.

Bio: Holly Chandler Tracy, MA, LPC is a member ofthe psychology faculty at Front Range Community College, Colorado.   She is the lead instructor for face-to-face classes in the Psychology Department at the Westminster Campus.  Prior to teaching at Front Range, Holly was a psychotherapist in private practice for thirteen years.  Holly also worked in Community Mental Health and crafted a proposal to privatize the foster care system in Sarasota County, Florida, which was eventually implemented and is credited with being a more cost effective and protective model for foster care.  She is also an entrepreneur, having started one of the first successful online jewelry stores before even Tiffany ventured into selling jewelry online.  Holly has successfully woven together the range of her work into her classroom.
