Description: What part do you play in the growing impact and popularity of apps and tablets in higher ed today? Do you own a tablet? If so, are you maximizing the utility of it and using it for learning and teaching? Do your students have tablets? How could they be used to leverage the learning experience? The purpose of this session is to review the trends and determine your unique opportunities to unlock the potential for tablets for teaching and learning. This session provides a process for mere mortals to elevate their tablet usage beyond personal use and incorporate into both online and face-to-face courses. A worksheet with this process and guiding reflective questions will be distributed and then during the session, participants will work in pairs or small groups to discuss and brainstorm ideas. Resources for rubrics that help in selecting the right app to match your teaching and learning goal will be shared.
