Abstract: We are evaluating the use of a web-based authoring tool to explore, cultivate, and evaluate the use of new educational technology methods in our school’s live and online programs and to address our online program’s need for immediate student feedback.
Bio: Shaun Ellen Gleason is an assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy and director of the Distance Degrees and Programs (DDP) for the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Dr. Gleason received her PharmD degree from the University of the Pacific (1990), and a Master of Global Studies degree from the University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of International Studies (2005). She completed two post-graduate residencies including one at National Jewish. She continued there as an assistant faculty member (1992-98; 1999-02), later joining Johnson & Johnson (2002-2009). In her director role she is responsible for exploring and implementing new educational technology methods and developing the proposed International Trained PharmD (ITPD) Program.
Description: We will present data on student learning and reaction to learning, and faculty perception on our use of a web-based authoring tool. We will also demonstrate cool (and uncool) ways we used the technology.
