Ready to Rumble? Ethics of Learning Analytics
Primary Presenter: Janet Corral

Track: Discussion
Topic: Student Assessment, Engagement, Success
Level: For Mere Mortals
Abstract: Learning analytics are being used in schools, universities, companies, and at state and federal levels to measure various aspects of learning and education success. The expectation is that these tools will be used to personalize learning to better scaffold students and to make teaching and educational decisions. Yet, no common ground exists on who holds what data, how, how long, and with what transparency, security or privacy. Bring your voice to the discussion in this point/counterpoint, the results of which will impact policies and procedures related to the ethics of learning analytics.
